Associate Vice President for Advocacy and Civic Engagement, Jewish Federations of North America

Jeff Mendelsohn is Associate Vice President for Advocacy and Civic Engagement at Jewish Federations of North America in Washington, DC. He leads efforts to empower Federations to combat antisemitism and Israel bias at the local level and within civil society spaces. He oversees Jewish Federations’ grassroots advocacy work, mobilizing Federations across the country for advocacy efforts from city councils to Capitol Hill. Jeff also directs One Mitzvah a Day, a project that sends participants a daily prompt to thank the allies who stand with the Jewish community.

Jeff’s career spans law, politics, and coalition-building. A San Antonio native with degrees from Harvard College and Harvard Law School, he served as chief of staff to two Texas Members of Congress and later, at AIPAC, launched a national effort to engage non-Jewish constituencies in pro-Israel advocacy. He went on to found Pro-Israel America, a bipartisan political committee supporting pro-Israel candidates. Jeff is active in Jewish communal life and serves on the Harvard Hillel board.
