Ruth Katz

CEO & President, Association of Jewish Aging Services

Ruth Katz is the President and CEO of the Association of Jewish Aging Services. AJAS's members are nonprofit Jewish organizations that provide housing, care, and services to older adults across the USA, Canada, Mexico, and Israel. Many AJAS member organizations were set up initially to serve Jewish elders who were not able to receive services in mainstream organizations. Today they open their doors to all older people in search of the best housing, services, and supports.

Before joining AJAS in February 2024, Ruth served for six years as the Senior Vice President for Policy at LeadingAge (national); LeadingAge is a national association of nonprofit aging services providers. Prior to joining LeadingAge, Ruth served as the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Disability, Aging, and Long-Term Care in the Office of the Secretary of the US Department of health and Human Services (HHS), leading a robust program of policy analysis and policy research.
