Prof. Ruth Halperin-Kaddari

Founding Academic Head, Ruth and Emanuel Rackman Center for the Advancement of the Status of Women at Bar-Ilan University’s Faculty of Law; Co-Founder, The Dinah Project

An expert on family law and international women’s rights, Ruth Halperin-Kaddari is the Founding Academic Director of the Rackman Center for the Advancement of Women at Bar-Ilan University Law Faculty in Israel. A former member and Vice-Chair of the UN Committee on Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW), she received numerous research grants and international awards including honorary degrees from Brandeis University and the JTS and the first US State Department Woman of Courage Award. In Oct. 2023, Ruth co-founded the Dinah Project for justice and recognition for the victims of the sexual violence on Oct. 7, and beyond.
