Amy Zimmerman

Associate Vice President, State Government Affairs, Jewish United Fund/Jewish Federation of Chicago

Amy Zimmerman is Associate Vice President of State Government Affairs at the Jewish United Fund (JUF), where she leads state advocacy on health and human services, disability supports, education, early childhood, community safety, and other priorities affecting Jewish communities and vulnerable populations across Illinois. Since joining JUF in 2020, Amy has built strong partnerships with legislators, state agency leaders, coalitions, and community organizations to shape and advance groundbreaking laws and secure critical resources.

Before joining JUF, Amy spent decades in public interest law and policy. She launched one of the nation’s first pediatric medical-legal partnerships and later led the program at Legal Council for Health Justice. She also served as Children’s Policy Advisor to Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan and held positions at Legal Aid Chicago and the Chicago Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights.

Amy is a graduate of Northwestern University Law School and the University of Pennsylvania.
