Zach Schwartz

JCRC Director, Jewish Federation in Southern Maine

Zach Schwartz is the Director of the Jewish Community Relations Council at the Jewish Community Alliance of Southern Maine. In this role, he has organized and led an intercultural security coalition of synagogues, churches, mosques, Buddhist temples, and nonprofits; his work resulted in the successful creation of the Maine Nonprofit Security Grant Program this year.

Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, Zach is a graduate of Columbia University. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Amjambo Network—the publisher of New England's largest African immigrant newspaper—and is a Founding Advisor to the Maine Asian-American Community Center. He is also a Leading Light Fellow for The LUNAR Collective, an organization by and for Asian-American Jews.

Zach, his wife, and their infant son, Samson, cherish belonging to Maine’s familial Jewish community. He is especially grateful for the friendship and support of Maine’s Jewish leaders, including Rabbi Andy Bachman and Rabbi Rachel Isaacs.
