CEO, Jewish Communal Appeal

Alain Hasson is Chief Executive Officer of the Jewish Communal Appeal (JCA), the central philanthropic body for the Australian Jewish community of NSW and the ACT. Alain has been with JCA for thirteen years and took over as CEO in November 2019. He has led the organisation through some of the most consequential years in the community's modern history; steering JCA through the Covid-19 pandemic, delivering its best-ever general campaign of $17.4m, and now coordinating the community's philanthropic and recovery response following the 14 December 2025 Bondi Beach terror attack.

Before becoming CEO, Alain led JCA's Planning department and delivered many major communal initiatives including the Gen17 survey and 2016 Jewish Census, and supported the Youth to Israel program's development.

Prior to the for-purpose sector, Alain worked in banking and finance in London (Citigroup, BlackRock). He is a member of Global Jewry and a 2015 Nahum Goldmann Fellowship alumnus.
