Douglas Murray is a bestselling author, journalist, and political commentator known for his writing and reporting on international affairs, politics, and culture. In recent years, he has reported extensively from conflict zones, including Israel, Gaza, Lebanon, and Ukraine, offering firsthand accounts of war and its human and geopolitical consequences.

His most recent book, On Democracies and Death Cults: Israel and the Future of Civilization (2025), draws on his on-the-ground reporting following the October 7 attacks and examines the conflict within its broader historical and political context. Murray is also the author of The War on the West (2022), a New York Times and Sunday Times bestseller, as well as the Sunday Times bestsellers The Madness of Crowds: Gender, Race and Identity (2019) and The Strange Death of Europe: Immigration, Identity and Islam (2017).

Murray has contributed to The Spectator since 2000 and has served as an Associate Editor since 2012. He is a columnist for the New York Post, The Free Press, The Sun, and The Telegraph, and contributes regularly to National Review and other publications.

A frequent speaker and debater, Murray has appeared before audiences at the British and European Parliaments and the White House and has debated figures including Mehdi Hasan, Julian Assange, Rowan Williams, and Malcolm Gladwell. He has appeared on numerous television programs and podcasts, including BBC’s Newsnight, Question Time, The Joe Rogan Experience, and Waking Up with Sam Harris.

Murray also serves as the inaugural President’s Professor of Practice at Yeshiva University, a role created to bring his work as a public intellectual into the university’s academic community.
