Daniel Hagari

Immediate Past IDF Spokesperson

Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari has served the Israel Defense Forces with distinction for more than two decades, holding senior leadership roles across the Israeli Navy and the IDF’s elite Naval Commando Unit (Flotilla 13). He has been Chief of Staff and Senior Military Assistant to two IDF Chiefs of the General Staff, commanded Flotilla 13, and headed Naval Operations Command.

Most recently, Hagari served as the IDF Spokesperson, becoming the voice of the Israel Defense Forces during the war launched by Hamas attacks on October 7, 2023. In this role, he led the IDF’s strategic communications during one of Israel’s most pivotal moments.

He holds a B.A. in Philosophy and an M.A. in Diplomacy and Security from Tel Aviv University. Hagari is married and the father of four children.
