Margaret Norman

Director, Jewish Community Relations Council, Birmingham Jewish Federation

Margaret Norman is Director of the Jewish Community Relations Council of the Birmingham Jewish Federation. From 2020-2024, she was Director of Programming at Birmingham’s Temple Beth El, where she established the Beth El Civil Rights Experience. Since 2021, BCRE has welcomed over two thousand visitors to learn about Jewish action and inaction in the local civil rights movement and has fostered city-wide relationships that Margaret brings to her new role. Margaret holds a BA in Individualized Study from New York University, a MA in American Studies from UNC-Chapel Hill, and experience across the non-profit and public history fields.
