Joan Donovan is an award winning sociologist and an Assistant Professor of Journalism and Emerging Media Studies in the College of Communications at Boston University. She is also the founder of The Critical Internet Studies Institute, a non-profit that fosters knowledge mobilization and organizes advocacy for a public interest internet.
