Shelley Rood Wernick is Associate Vice President of Jewish Federations’ Center on Aging, Trauma, and Holocaust Survivor Care. Her work advances care by recognizing a history of trauma impacts mental, social, emotional, and physical health throughout the life course; and by promoting person-centered, trauma-informed care as the universal strategy for serving older adults. Previously, Shelley conveyed policy priorities to Congress and the White House, trained communities to advocate, and served on congressional staff. Shelley earned a BA from the University of Florida and MBA from Georgetown University. Shelley speaks at national conferences and presents her grandfather’s Holocaust history to classrooms.
