Bat Galim Shaer is an educator, speaker, writer and public figure who works to promote unity within the Israeli Society and the Jewish People.

She is married to Ofir and is a mother of 5 daughters and one son, the late Gil-ad z’’l. In 2014 Gil-ad was murdered by Hamas terrorists in Gush Etzion along with his friends Naftali Frenkel and Eyal Yifrach.

In order to promote optimism and unity among people, Bat-galim lectures around the world; she is one of the creators of Israel’s "Unity Day" project, and in 2016 she founded the "Sonshine" organization which initiates and manages international social projects connecting between Israel and the Diaspora. These projects can serve as a model for unity and social justice throughout the world.

She is author of the bestseller book, "Expecting My Child - Longings of a Mother,” which shares personal coping methods from her experience and illustrates the strength of Israeli society and the Jewish people throughout the world in times of crisis.

In 2019, she was chosen to light a torch for the 71st Yom Ha’Atzma’ut.

She is also the Director of the Central Zionist Archives.
