Micah Goodman

Israeli Author

Micah Goodman is an Israeli author, public intellectual, and a leading voice on Jewish philosophy and contemporary Israeli thought. He is the author of seven best-selling books in Hebrew, many of which have also been translated into other languages. His first three books engage deeply with canonical Jewish philosophy. His later books address pressing issues in contemporary Israeli society, identity, and democracy. In 2017, The Jerusalem Post named him one of the 50 most influential Jews in the world, and in 2019, Liberal magazine listed him among the 100 most influential Israelis.

Dr. Goodman is also the co-host, alongside Efrat Shapira Rosenberg, of Mifleget Hamachshavot (“The Ideas Party”) – a popular Hebrew-language podcast produced by Beit Avi Chai, exploring the big ideas behind current political discourse in Israel.

He is a Research Fellow at the Shalom Hartman Institute in Jerusalem, and one of the founders of Mabua – Israeli Beit Midrash, a network of learning communities exploring Jewish identity in the Israeli public sphere.
